When You’re in the Middle

Some days don’t come with a spark or a storm.
Some days just sit in the middle — quiet, neutral, almost empty.
And that’s where the real work shows up.

I woke up today not stuck, not driven… just here.
Floating between hunger and restraint, between wanting something and choosing not to break the habits I’m trying to outgrow.
It’s funny — the body says “eat,” but the mission says “hold the line.”
That’s the part nobody talks about.

Discipline isn’t loud.
It’s not motivational quotes or adrenaline.
It’s a skill — a muscle — and I’m learning it in real time.
Learning myself.
Learning the difference between hunger and habit.
Between desire and direction.

This middle space… it’s uncomfortable, but it’s honest.
It’s where you find out who you are when nothing is pushing you forward and nothing is pulling you back.
Just you, your choices, and the quiet.

And maybe that’s the point.
Maybe discipline is built right here —
in the moments where you could slip, but you don’t.
Where you could break, but you breathe instead.
Where you choose the future version of yourself over the old patterns that used to run your life.

I’m not stuck.
I’m not lost.
I’m just learning how to hold myself steady.
And that’s a different kind of strength.
